We were the first to Use QR Codes for real estate in the local paper and in the popular "The Real Estate Book" This particular one goes to a beta mobile web site. Text Information Today a growing number of home buyers are extremely tech savvy and can pop off a text request for information faster than you can find a pen and paper to write down the information to call or look up our web site. Once they text the appropriate code they instantly receive a message back with basic property information as well as contact information for later follow up. |
Your Real Estate agent should have a large footprint on the web and appear in the top ten if not number one for a variety of real estate related searches. |

Great advice for sellers. I am amazed at how many agents will not text, will not do video or virtual tours and think one or a couple of photos is enough. 95% of all home buyers start on the internet. Enough said!
In this age of the web being the main source of contact and information, its the place to focus on marketing and social connection in real estate. Thanks for the timely article.
Kathy - Your absolutely correct. Gone are the days of just putting a sign in the yard. We're constantly thinking of new ways to set ourselves apart while sticking to the fundamentals.
I agree with you Sandi, but sometimes I wish we lived in a simplier age.
Hi Kathy...we need to be everywhere the home buying consumers are. We may find that extra Buyer through out of the Box Marketing.
Hi Kathy - I am rather surprised that the cloud text graphic in your post shows CREA in such a dominant fashion and that other words that are more commonly associated with you are significantly less dominant. It must be the particular webpage(s) that the app used.
It is an absolutely beautiful sunny day today so take full advantage of it.
Anne - what amazes me is how little some know about it (heads in the sand)
Wale - all marketing we do should have a web component if a print advertiser does not also have a web component that will display my adds I think more than twice about using them.
Mary - the first company Barrie and I worked for had a cute little chimunk on their sign and their slogan was "if our sign is on you lawn hurry home your moving"
sheila - LOL - I just wish they would let me learn about the new stuff before they replace it tomorrow with more new stuff
Fred - over heard from one of our competitors during our brokers open tour ..... what are those little square things on their sign ..... what do they do (refering to a QR code on a RE/MAX sign) and then they proceeded to ask me because they figured I would know.
Marc - Barrie did it some time ago ..... it turned up different terms each time he did it .....he liked this one because the shape it produced looked most like a footprint
Hi Kathy - great post! We certainly all need to be "media and social connection" savvy these days. I think Virtual Tours are the best thing since sliced bread!
cheers!
David - its like having a 24/7 open house ..... it does result in fewer showings but fewer tire kickers as well.
Kathy, it is extremely important to be tech savvy and to use tech to enhance our client's goals.
Ty
Ty - and I know one at Envelope Real Estate in London who does just that
Paul - it is one part of the equation but a very big part.
Kathy Paul #17 has left that comment on at least a dozen posts in the last few days just cutting and pasting it in. Perhaps more. The same generic comment over and over. Hows that for an effort to stay on top of real estate technology?
